Camps ‘R’ Us, a day camp with locations all across Long Island, will be opening a location in Nassau County this summer.
Camps ‘R’ Us, a day camp for children ages 3-15, is adding a seventh location on Long Island. The new Camps ‘R’ Us will be in Syosset and will utilize St. Edward the Confessor School’s campus. The facilities include an air-conditioned field house gymnasium, large air-conditioned activity rooms and bunks, a children’s playground, basketball courts, a bocce court, and a fully-appointed baseball field. In addition to several athletic fields, the campus features newly paved athletic court surfaces.
Managing director Jason Turnier is happy to be opening a camp in this once underserved area. “We have a lot of families who live and work in the Syosset area who had to travel a decent way to one of our campuses. So we wanted to bridge the gap for them,” he says.
In addition to the new location, new programming will be added at all the Camps ‘R’ Us on Long Island. “Every time we open a new location we add new programming to all of our camps, to celebrate the new campus and bring them into the Camps ‘R’ Us family,” Turnier says. “We are adding a dance program; Soccer Shots, which is instructional, educational soccer; and we have redeveloped our Tiny Tots Early Childhood Program.”
At Camps ‘R’ Us children ages 3-15 can take part in activities such as swimming, various sports, arts and crafts, and more. Campers are divided by age in order to provide developmentally appropriate games and sports as well as a proper counselor to camper ratio.
Registration is currently open on a first-come, first-served basis.
