On September 25, a group of students from Buckley Country Day School in Roslyn sang the National Anthem at Citi Field prior to the game between the New York Mets and Atlanta Braves. More than 50 sixth, seventh, and eighth graders would not let the rainy weather dampen their spirits and belted out a terrific rendition of the Star Spangled Banner, under the direction of Dianna Baritot, 4th-8th grade french teacher and 8th grade drama teacher.
Nearly 200 members of the Buckley community were in the stands cheering on their children, classmates and friends. It was certainly a night to remember.
“I am so proud of our students and the way that they represented Buckley Country Day School,” Headmaster Jean-Marc Juhel, PhD said. “Tonight was a special opportunity for us and it was a truly memorable community event!”
