The highly-anticipated documentary “Babies,” which chronicles the day-to-day lives of four babies from various corners of the globe, opens on Mother’s Day! The film follows babies in Namibia, Mongolia, San Francisco and Tokyo from their birth until their first steps, capturing everything from adorable mishaps to full-scale meltdowns. French director Thomas Balmes recently spoke with New York Family about his inspiration for the project, the production process, and what he learned from his tiny subjects.
