In addition to hitting the retail and department stores during the holiday season, NYC shoppers have the option of visiting one of many pop-up shops that appear throughout the city. These markets are festive, often outdoors and offer handmade goods and one-of-a-kind finds that you just can’t buy in regular stores. In preparation for sharing a full round-up of pop-up shops next week (stay tuned!), we wanted to pique your interest with a look at two very special markets that help make the season bright. —
If you’re an uptown fam, you should know that the Columbus Circle Holiday Market is hosting Lil’ New Yorker–a group of local artisans, crafters and designers specializing in handmade products for babies and kids. With Etsy-like artsy offerings, Lil’ New Yorker has beautiful products from vendors like Bugged Out (organic cotton clothing for little ones complete with bug, fruit and veggie motifs), La Muse Kalliope (unique handcrafted stuffed animals), Overall Baby (vivid-printed overalls), Woolly Boo (heirloom quality crib bedding and sleep sacks) and more. The holiday market runs until December 24 and is open seven days a week.
If downtown is more your ‘hood, check out the Jade’s ToyBox Holiday Pop-Up Store in Tribeca. With a great selection of eco-friendly and educational toys and gifts, Jade’s offers great deals and discounts at its pop-up, alongside holiday events for tots. The schedule this year includes craft workshops, storytime (by kids!), a cookie swap, talent show and Santa letter writing. The pop-up runs through December 28 and is open seven days a week.
And be sure to check out next week’s comprehensive round-up of holiday pop-up markets! It will be featured in our Wednesday newsletter, and also here at The Daily Scoop.
