Award: Outstanding School

Describe your school’s core educational philosophy.

We are a social-constructivist preschool with a deep influence of the Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood education. We support children’s many intelligences and provide opportunities for deep reflection and learning about topics of interest.

Tell us about a few of the school’s achievements or distinguishing programs.

We are particularly proud of our teaching staff who are a brilliant and reflective group committed to the children and families in our program. We continue to challenge ourselves by raising
the bar each year in terms of our curriculum, documentation, and programming.

What’s new?

We have just celebrated our 10-year anniversary and have been so thankful to the neighborhood for embracing and supporting our program since we opened.

What do you love about your school?

I love the children, families, and teachers at TriBeCa Community School. In my opinion, they are like none other in New York City. The parents are committed to supporting their children’s education and this makes our connection that much more significant. The children arrive eager to learn each day and to be part of some of their first discoveries is truly magical.
