From an American Indian pow-wow to a flurry of festivities surrounding the Chinese New Year, multicultural activities abound this weekend. You can even venture to Brooklyn’s BAM theater to see a puppet-show rendition of the “Sleeping Beauty” fairy tale  in Spanish or English.  Here’s to the year of the horse! STARTING FRIDAY

Made up of members from more than 10 different Native American tribes, the Thunderbird American Indian Dancers will present their annual dance concert and pow-wow. Tap your feet! (Friday-February 9)

Celebrate the Chinese year of the horse at the Children’s Museum of Manhattan, where children can learn about the significance of the Chinese zodiac while making fun arts and crafts. Happy New Year! (Friday-Sunday)

Design your own horse puppet to commemorate the year of the horse and the Chinese New Year at the Sony Wonder Technology Lab. Get crafty! (Friday)

Head over to Nassau Coliseum for Monster Jam truck tour, and don’t miss the party in the pits, which lets fans see these massive trucks up close, meet the drivers, and get autographs. Rev up your engine! (Friday-Sunday)

STARTING SATURDAY

Join the Bang On A Can All-Stars, a six-member ensemble, as they create an exciting arrangement of music inspired from several genres from rock to jazz at Carnegie Hall. Get ready to rock! (Saturday)

Mexican puppet company Marionetas de la Esquina will perform their hour-long rendition of the “Sleeping Beauty” fairy tale at Brooklyn’s BAM theater this weekend in both English and Spanish versions. Enjoy the show! (Saturday-February 8)

The Museum of Chinese in America (MOCA) invites families with children of all ages to its Chinese New Year’s festival, marking the year of the horse. Expect everything from a Chinese lion dance and workshop to a calligraphy practice session. Get festive! (Saturday)

The classic Rockappella members best known for their role on the hit TV show “Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?” are reuniting as XRP to perform a benefit concert for the Central Park East II Elementary School at the New York Academy of Medicine. Sing along! (Saturday)

At 92Y’s Baby Got Bach series, enjoy a live classical concert with the chance to sing and play along with the musicians. Aspiring violinists take note! (Saturday)

Josh and the Jamtones turn Symphony Space into a family dance party this weekend thanks to the Boston-based tot rockers groovy tunes. Dance the day away! (Saturday)

SUNDAY

Watch Joanie Leeds and her band, the Nightlights, perform hits from their five children’s albums at the JCC in Manhattan. Rock out! (Sunday)

It’s family day at the Bard Graduate Center, where kids can learn about the art and history of traditional clothing and objects from all around the world. Get cultural! (Sunday)

Honor groundhog day with animal expert Jerry Zelenka at the New-York Historical Society’s DiMenna Children’s History Museum. Get up close and personal with a variety of animals. Calling all animal lovers! (Sunday)

Sonic Escape and the Music Makers features a trio of young virtuosos—flute, violin, and cello. Their upcoming performance at Wave Hill will involve unique instrumentation, with improvisation and audience interaction. Make some music! (Sunday)

Aviator Sports Summer Day Camp

<p>Aviator Sports Summer Day Camp offers five daily rotating activities such as swimming, ice skating gymnastics, rock climbing, parkour, indoor/outdoor turf, and courts plus more in its ample 175,000 sq. ft. facility and 35-acre outdoor area. Aviator Summer Camp also offers off-site and on-site field trips such as a day at Green Meadows Farm, Launch Trampoline Park, and a Brooklyn Cyclones game. The summer camp runs from 9 am-5 pm with early drop off and late stay available. Bus transportation is also available throughout Brooklyn. Lunch and an afternoon snack are included.
