Happy Martin Luther King Day weekend! If your family is planning on sticking around the NYC area this holiday weekend, take a second to check out all of our activity picks for Monday that celebrate Dr. King and his legacy. From workshops at CMOM and the Brooklyn Kids Museum to volunteer projects with the JCC Manhattan to walking tours of upper Manhattan, there is plenty of educational fun to be had

If you haven’t checked out the American Museum of Natural History’s amazing exhibit, "Brain: An Inside Story," this Saturday is a great day to go, as the museum is throwing "Brainfest," a bash that will let kids use their noggins in all sorts of fun activities, like memory games, examining neurons under a microscope and more.

If you have a budding builder or designer at home, why not check out the "Design Squad Nation Family Day" at the New York Hall of Science, the Museum of Art and Design’s Family Day, or the Scholastic Store’s "Ready, Set, Build Your Legos" workshop?

If you’d like to be entertained this weekend, check out Manhattan Children’s Theatre’s hilarious production of "Little Red Riding Hood," Puppetwork’s performance of "Alice in Wonderland," or the 14th Street Y’s rendition of "A Wonderfully Flat Thing."
