Al-Quds: Jerusalem At The Metropolitan Museum Of Art
Renowned composer Mohammed Fairouz and poet Naomi Shihab Nye created a new song to respond to the various voices of Jerusalem in honor of The Met Fifth Avenue’s exhibition called, “Jerusalem 1000-1400: Every People Under Heaven.” The Grammy-nominated Metropolis Ensemble and mezzo-soprano soloist Eve Gigiliotti will perform the world premiere. Also, Modern Medieval Trio of Voices will perform “O Jerusalem” by Hildegard von Bingen and Axion Estin Foundation’s psaltes (cantors) will perform Eastern Orthodox chants in different languages. “The Hard Nut” At Brooklyn Academy of Music
Bring your family to a unique performance of “The Nutcracker” performed by the Mark Morris Dance Group.
