Disney on Ice at Barclays Center

You know the holiday season is upon us when there aren’t enough hours in a weekend to enjoy all the special family attractions cropping up all over the city. This weekend, besides annual favorites like the Holiday Train Show at the New York Botanical Garden, there’s also a multi-holiday-themed Disney on Ice show, a funky “rhythmic circus” and beatboxing performance at the New Victory Theater, and a gigantic 300-square-foot gingerbread village at the New York Hall of Science.

 

STARTING FRIDAY

The New Victory Theater will be pulsing with energy in “Feet Don’t Fail Me Now,” in which a “rhythmic circus” taps along to sounds of human beatboxing and a brass band. Ready to jam? (Friday-Sunday)

Party it up with Mickey, Minnie, Buzz Lightyear, and other Disney characters during the Disney on Ice “Let’s Celebrate” show at Barclay’s Center, highlighting different holidays around the world. Dive in! (Friday-Sunday)

Get into the holiday spirit with The Grinch at the Children’s Museum of Manhattan, where Dr. Seuss-inspired workshops involve rhyming hats, two-sided masks, and an interactive sleigh ride–oh my! (Friday-Sunday)

Ridemakerz, which provides the ultimate customized toy car building experience, has set up its own mini-shop at FAO Schwarz just in time for the holiday season. Get creative! (Friday-Sunday)

 

STARTING SATURDAY

Grammy-nominated band Justin Roberts and the Not Ready for Naptime Players is taking to Symphone Space stages with infectious energy and giggle-inducing lyrics. Ready to laugh? (Saturday)

New York Botanical Gardens’ Holiday Train Show is back with more than 140 landmark replicas like Penn Station and Radio City Music Hall, not to mention themed crafts, readings, and shows. Hop on! (Saturday & Sunday)

The Mexican American Festival means a whole weekend of live music, dance, storytelling, theater, crafts, and more at the Children’s Museum of the Arts. Get cultured! (Saturday & Sunday)
