Stroller Add-Ons

I’ve been pushing a stroller for over three years now and have found that even the best set of wheels can benefit from a few accessories. I particularly remember the time my son was in the stroller and I wedged a drink into the folded-up canopy over his head, only to find him soaking wet when he woke up from his nap a few minutes later (that’s when I went out and bought a separate cup holder). Here are five problem-solving products that fit most strollers and will make outings with baby much easier and more enjoyable!

JJ Cole Bundle Me. Designed to be used with strollers and car seats, this insulated pouch–almost like a sleeping bag–keeps baby all bundled up while being safely buckled in. It’s available in multiple styles, from the soft plush original to the rain- and wind-resistant arctic version. All models come with a cozy lining that keeps your child toasty in any weather. It’s machine washable for easy care. Infant (up to 21 lbs or one year), $40; toddler (1-3 years), $50.

The Mommy Hook. This simple clip attaches to any stroller handle and provides a place to hang everything from grocery bags to a purse. It’s made of heavy-duty aluminum and has a rubber covering so it won’t slide around or scratch your stroller. $8.

Plush Stroller Hand Muff by Baby Jogger (pictured). Use this cozy muff in winter weather to keep your hands toasty. It attaches to a stroller’s handle bar and is insulated enough that you can forgo gloves, keeping your hands free for on-the-go mommy tasks like doling out snacks or wiping sticky hands. It’s water-resistant and machine washable. $40.

Skip Hop Triple Bottle Bag. Babies don’t limit themselves to three meals a day, so if you’re going to be out and about for any length of time, you’ll need to feed them on-the-go. This stylish bottle bag is the perfect solution as it comes with a clip for hanging from your stroller handle. It’s insulated and keeps three bottles of milk, formula or juice cold for up to four hours. Outer pockets can hold additional items, like teething biscuits or wipes. The bag also features shoulder straps. $20.

Valco Baby Universal Cup Holder. Many strollers don’t provide a cup holder to store a drink for mom–or if they do it isn’t always sturdy. The Valco Cup holder attaches to most strollers and fits a range of cup sizes. It will hold your drink securely so it’s ready to go when you’re ready for some caffeine! $15.
