Strapped For Time

We all know it’s really hard to accomplish many things in two minutes, so when we saw a sign in Badichi’s store window on Prince Street in Soho promising a new belt in two minutes, we were intrigued. And as we’re always on the lookout for a good belt – which can make the simplest combination somehow more polished, more buttoned-up – we couldn’t resist putting their promise to the test.— In this tiny new shop, you can choose your belt from hundreds of leather straps which you pair with your own choice of unique buckle ranging from the most basic to the more ornate. Straps run $40-60 and buckles from $30-85 ($200 for a handcrafted mosaic buckle). From there, the holes are punched while you wait and, voila, you walk out with your new fancy belt two minutes later. (Note: We can only vouch for the two-minute promise if you are good at making hard decisions quickly.) Badichi,159 Prince Street. http://www.badichibelts.com
