The NYMetroParents blogroll features the best blogs in the parenting world, from New York and beyond. Here’s a closer look at why we love these mom bloggers and dad bloggers and how they’re shaping the web for parenting today.
Blogging From: Manhattan
In 2002, Manhattan resident, Victoria Pericon, created the first unbiased product and service review site for parents. Since then, this Savvy Mommy‘s fame has skyrocketed. Pericon has over 10,000 followers on Twitter and 385 likes on Facebook. She also makes frequent appearances on TV programs where she is asked to give her expert advice on parenting. Fame, however, does not keep her from her four children. She has raised her children to become just as savvy as she is by using their responses to products as a way to further develop her research. And in return? We pray her children will give her a “#1 Mom” mug for her birthday.
In addition to being both a blogger and a mother, Pericon is also the editor of the popular online magazine “Savvy Mommy”: a site that has contests, product reviews, and interviews with a number of savvy mommies we all adore (Felicity Hoffman from Desperate Housewives, anyone?).
Victoria Pericon’s personal blog can be found on veepveep.com, and her online magazine can be found on savvymommy.com. Both her blog and the online magazine “Savvy Mommy” discuss products events, advice, and give essential information new mothers, expectant mothers, and families need. — Holly Tucker
