More and more outdoor ice skating rinks have popped in New York City in the past years but now there is one where you can also enjoy a spectacular view while you skate five flights up in the air. The W Hotel in lower Manhattan has transformed the fifth floor wrap around terrace of 400 square feet into an ice skating rink which will be open until February 15. It holds up to 20 people and is made out of synthetic hybrid ice panels. It’s open to everyone and it’s free to skate. If you don’t have your own skates, the rental skate fee is $12. There is also an ice bar out there for adults who can experience the Hot Chocolate Martini while watching their kids skate around. The hours of operation are from 2pm – 10pm.
