Shakespeare in the Park: “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”

Reserve your seat for one of Shakespeare’s most magical plays, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” A magical sprite meddles in a love catastrophe worth many laughs–just don’t drink that love potion! Tickets are distributed on the morning of the performance and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

City of Water Day 2017

Hop on a boat during the 10th annual City Of Water Day Festival! This family-friendly event takes place along the New York and New Jersey waterfronts. As the region’s largest harbor festival, the celebrations span from Governors Island to Maxwell Place Park in Hoboken, NJ, and dozens of other locations in the New York Harbor. Enjoy free boat tours on small and large vessels, including tall ships and tugboats; kayak, paddle, and row; and be sure not to miss the children’s activities and Waterfront Activity Fair, which are lots of fun for the whole family.

Sprinkler Day

This Saturday, get some relief from the summer heat during Asphalt Green’s annual Sprinkler Day. Starting at 1pm, your kids can frolic in the sprinkler spray on the outdoor field of the center’s Upper East Side campus. Don’t forget to bring a towel and be sure to grab a free frozen treat on your way out!

LC Kids Dance with Dancing Classrooms

Whether they are tentative tango-ers or mamba masters, your kids will love this dance class in the park. Dancing Classrooms provides some inspirational teachers and after teaching everyone a few moves, the crowd gets to boogie down together.

Music in the Grove on Sunday: Rozz and Val Show

Ages 0-8
Spend your afternoon in the park grooving to the tunes of the Rozz and Val Show in Fort Greene Park. Pack a picnic lunch and spread a blanket on the grass while your kids enjoy dancing to music catered to ages 0-8.

2017 Rubin Block Party: Sounds of the Street

Join The Rubin Museum this Sunday for its epic Block Party! The museum will celebrate its latest exhibit “The World is Sound” with an afternoon of free family-friendly activities, live performances, and food. Children can get creative with arts and crafts, participate in museum tours and family gallery searches, dance during a silent disco, and relax during an outdoor family yoga session. There will also be performances from The Blue Angels Drumline, poets John Giorno and Tenzin Dickie, and others. Museum admission will be free for the day. This event will be held rain or shine.
