Take a trip to the Brooklyn Children’s Museum for the opening of its newest exhibit “From Here to There.” Learn about the laws of motion, gravity, and friction throughout the exhibit which features sailboat experiments, windspeed demos, and a hovercraft ride. Free with museum admission. Runs through Sunday, May 10.

Like a Spanish version of STOMP, in Cambuyón the performers of the Enlace S.C. troupe make music on everything from wooden crates to a tiny matchbox. Hailing from Barcelona and the Canary Islands, this energetic ensemble fuses hip hop, drumming, and body percussion to create unique rhythms revealing African, Spanish, Irish, and American influences. Recommended for ages 6 and up. Tickets start at $15. Runs through Sunday, February 22.

Carnegie Kids: The Itty Biddies

Catch The Itty Biddies live in concert at Carnegie Hall. The all-female band’s blend of folk and pop music makes the group a hit with kids and parents alike. The ladies will perform tunes from their latest children’s album, “Hello Hello Hello!” including “Safari,” “Jump Around,” and “Move Your Body.” This event is free, but reservations are required.

For families with children ages 3 to teen, the city’s biggest Camp Fairs are coming up on Saturday, February 7, and Sunday, February 8. The Camp Fairs are free, child-friendly, and feature all kinds of day camps (in and around the city) and sleepaway camps (all over the Northeast). Essentially, the Camp Fairs are a wonderful opportunity for parents and child to chat with lots of Camp Directors in one convenient local setting, and ask questions about the kinds of camps that might be right for their family. BAMkids Film Festival 2015

The BAMkids Film Festival is back for its 17th year this weekend! This year, the fest will screen 74 films from 30 countries, including a selection of short films plus the feature film, “On the Way to School,” a documentary about the challenges that four children face when traveling to school. After the screenings, children can stop by the café for balloon-making, animation workshops, magic shows, face-painting, food, and much more. Tickets are $14 for adults and $10 for children ages 12 and under.
New York Theatre Ballet: Cinderella

Ages 3 and up will have a ball at the New York Theatre Ballet’s production of “Cinderella” this Saturday and Sunday. Choreographed by Donald Mahler and featuring the costumes by Sylvia Taalson Nolan, this one-hour ballet is the perfect length for little ones. They will especially enjoy the dancing clock! Tickets are $39.
