Elizabeth England has decided to offer college essay Boot Camps and Brainstorm sessions this September & October in response to both the success of the same summer program as well as students’ desire for more structure and momentum.
In her new five-week, five-day, or weekend virtual one-on-one Boot Camp, Elizabeth England works with seniors on identifying a compelling Common Application Essay topic that is not already present in other application materials. The one-hour brainstorm session shares this goal, though the Boot Camp takes it a few steps further. The more intensive Boot Camp encourages students to find this topic through practiced responses and essay openers and then produce a draft by the end of the program.
Aside from the Boot Camps and Brainstorms, England also works with students on completing college essays and forming an application strategy for ED, ED2, EA, and RD, offering both essay coaching sessions and college counseling at any stage of the application process. England additionally helps rising high school or college students on the essay drills for their respective standardized tests. She focuses on giving students strategic tips on how to write under pressure, calling herself a “big fan of a test day game plan.”
England brings a unique perspective to the essay writing process due to her extensive background in both marketing/branding and writing. She uses this unique intersection to help students produce successful essays that are “portraits of themselves.” As a self-proclaimed “student-driven” writing coach, England aims to aid a student’s sense of empowerment and pride when it comes to their newfound command of writing.
