Have you introduced your children to jazz? If not, what are you waiting for? —
The Jazz for Young People program at Jazz at Lincoln Center is hosting a family concert–What is New Orleans Jazz?–on Saturday, April 21 at the Rose Theater that will get your toes tapping and your little music enthusiasts up and dancing! In this interactive, family-friendly concert, drummer Alvin Atkinson
and friends invite parents and children to join the Second Line parade and express
their personal style through movement and song as they learn the
language of New Orleans jazz. You can expect to explore collective
improvisation, call and response, grooves and learn about the
instruments in the band, all while enjoying N.O. classics like
“Audubon Zoo” and “St. Louis Blues.”
And we have a family four-pack of concert tickets to the 1pm performance to give away! To enter, simply email familygiveaways@manhattanmedia.com with “Jazz” in the subject line. Deadline is Wednesday, April 18.
