IndieCade East at the Museum of the Moving Image
Calling all gamers! This weekend the Museum of the Moving Image will host IndieCade East 2015, one of the country’s largest events dedicated to independent video games. Families can play more than 30 new and unreleased games and attend creator panels and talks. There will also be an eSports Showcase where players can compete in video sports game competitions throughout the weekend. (Friday-Sunday) -
Ice Festival in Central Park
Join Central Park for its 4th annual Ice Festival this Saturday! Watch as the ice-sculpting artists of Okamoto Studio recreate the park’s Romeo and Juliet sculpture entirely from blocks of ice using chain saws, ice picks and chisels. Afterwards, stick around for the 80’s themed Silent Disco, cupcakes from Sprinkles, and food truck goodies. (Saturday) -
Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show at Piers 92 & 94
The Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show is back for its 139th year! At the American Kennel Club’s Meet the Breeds event on Saturday, February 14, you’ll get the chance to learn about and meet hundreds of different dog breeds, and explore canine-themed booths, play with dogs and puppies, and talk to AKC representatives about dog ownership. General admission tickets to Piers 92/94 on Monday, February 16 and Tuesday, February 17 provide access to all of the benching and judging that happens before the finals at Madison Square Garden.
