"Fly" at the New Victory Theater
The New Victory Theater will present “Fly,” a theatrical adventure from the NAACP Ovation Award-winning Pasadena Playhouse, and the TONY Award-winning Crossroads Theatre Company. Set in 1944, “Fly” tells the story of the Tuskegee Airmen through dance and video projection. The show focuses on four brave young men who join the first squadron of black military aviators in US history. (Opens Friday) -
Carnegie Kids: Falu at Carnegie Hall
Take a trip to India with this musical event at Carnegie Hall! Carnegie Kids presents “Falu’s Bazaar,” where vocalist Falu Shah blends classical Indian music with American pop to create a unique “Indie-Hindi” style. Backed by both Western and traditional Indian instruments such as the tabla, harmonium, and bansuri (Indian bamboo flute), Falu teaches kids about Indian culture, while having a lot of fun. Dr. Seuss' "The Cat in the Hat" at the Tribeca Performing Arts Center
This Saturday everyone’s favorite mischievous cat is coming to the Tribeca Performing Arts Center! Childsplay will present the National Theatre of Great Britain’s production of “Dr. Seuss’ The Cat in the Hat.” Ages 3 and up will have a ball with Sally and her brother, their fish, Thing One and Thing Two, and, of course, the Cat in the Hat! Mister G with Broadway's "School of Rock" at Symphony Space
Sing and dance with 2015 Latin Grammy winner Mister G and special guest stars from the Broadway hit musical, “School of Rock” this Saturday at Symphony Space. Smithsonian Museum Day Live!
Take advantage of some of NYC’s cultural hubs for free during Smithsonian magazine’s Museum Day Live event! Museums across the city, including the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, the Museum of Chinese in America, and the Museum of the City of New York, will open their doors to anyone who presents a Museum Day Live ticket. NYC Gifted & Talented Symposium and Benefit
If you want to know everything there is to know about Gifted & Talented admissions and meeting the needs of your advanced learner, the Parents of Accelerated Learners, NYC [PALNYC] is hosting their big 2016 NYC Gifted & Talented Symposium and Benefit this Saturday, March 12. The symposium includes topics on talent development, social and emotional development, and navigating pre-K through middle school. Inventgenuity Festival 2016

Bringing together local businesses, brands, educators, caretakers, performers, and artists, the Mamas Expo is a fun-filled weekend of discovery and play for parents and kids of all ages! Held on March 12 and 13 at the New York Hall of Science, the Mamas Expo brings together a wide array of local resources for parents and kids to explore together. Solo performer Shona Reppe presents a witty reinterpretation of the classic “Cinderella” fable! For starters, the entire play is set on a tabletop stage. Audiences will delight at the puppetry, secret hatches, hidden doors, and a handbag full of magic. This minimal performance will ignite kids’ imagination, and will even invite them to complete the story themselves. Kids will learn how to play the tin whistle, speak Gaelic with the help of talented instructors, play music with Stomp and Shout New York, practice football skills with the Manhattan Gaels, and engage in many unique Irish crafts. Pi Day at MoMath
Celebrate the coming of Pi Day (March 14) at the National Museum of Mathematics (MoMath) this Sunday. All ages can participate in an introductory pi demo, try their luck in an outdoor hula-hooping contest that demonstrates pi as the circular constant, and build a nine-foot “fractal circles-within-circles sculpture.” Also, at 3:30pm, Tetsuya Miyamoto will return to MoMath to reveal the secrets of his puzzle-solving logic philosophy, KenKen.(Sunday) -
