Very Romantic Valentine’s Day Dining

While some say that Valentine’s Day is an overrated “Hallmark holiday,” I still enjoy the romance of the day, and still think it’s important to celebrate with a night out with your loved one. To help plan your own special outing, here are a few wonderful city restaurants that promise to be stroller-free and truly special.

Hundred Acres

West Village
You can’t go wrong with a romantic meal at Hundred Acres. New enough to have a fun and hip crowd, the restaurant also delivers amazing food and a very cozy ambiance. The menu changes daily, but you won’t be disappointed by anything you order. Request the back room when making a reservation, as the front room can get taken over by the bar scene.

Porter House New York

Upper West Side
If your idea of Valentine’s Day is cutting into a perfectly prepared steak, visit Porter House on the fourth floor of the Time Warner Center in Columbus Circle. The food is phenomenal, cocktails generously poured and the view overlooking Central Park speaks for itself. Be sure to request a booth by the window to get the full effect. After dinner, indulge in a drink next door at Rande Gerber’s Stone Rose Lounge for a perfect ending to your evening.

Apizz
East Village
Apizz is an Italian restaurant that is so good, it just may become your go-to date night spot after just one visit. The food is exceptional, from the complimentary dips that come with the bread to the homemade pizza and signature meatballs. If the food doesn’t win you over, the cozy fireplace and welcoming atmosphere surely will.

Aquagrill

SoHo
Nothing says romance like fresh oysters, and Aquagrill’s raw bar is one of the best in the city. The restaurant is one of my staples for fresh fish and a cozy, welcoming vibe. Finally, don’t forget to save room for the amazing chocolates prepared by AquaGrill’s very own chocolatier for dessert!
