1. A good birthing plan: Baby out. This came from a wise mom in one of her Groups.
2. A good parenting style: Baby alive. Another simple and smart mantra from a member of The Moms Groups.
3. Get out early and often. Research has shown that moms who get out often, get support, and connect with other moms are at a much lower risk for depression.
4. Ask for help. Before baby you were able to do it all on your own. Now, you physically can’t.
5. There’s no “one size fits all” in parenting. There are so many different ways to parent. Consider what you learn as a parenting buffet: Take what you like, and leave the rest.
6. Everyone is the expert of themselves. Don’t just follow what a pediatrician says to do; they’re not living your life. Hone your intuition. If it doesn’t feel right, don’t do it.
7. You’re not alone, but it takes a village.
