Greetings,
I’m writing with a special request: to solicit your help in
gathering nominations for the 2012
Blackboard Awards For Teachers, which celebrates educators of excellence
from all over the city. Any teacher in the five boroughs is eligible, from
nursery school through high school, and from every educational sector–public,
private, charter and parochial. —
The deadline for this year’s nominations is Sunday, April 29th, so
if you could take a few minutes to post it, blog it, tweet it, or alert your PTA,
it would be greatly appreciated. We also invite you to tell us about a special
teacher in your own life!
Last year we received over 1,200 nominations for the
Teachers Awards, largely from parents. In our experience, the awards are not
only a special honor for the educators, but also a feel-good boon to the entire
school community.
To nominate a teacher for a Blackboard Award, a parent or
educator should visit blackboardawards.com,
where they’ll also be able to read more about the awards and how they aim to
serve parents and local education.
Please jump in! Think about that teacher who you are
so thankful to have in your family’s life. Everyone knows an educator like
that—and this is a great way to let
them know they are appreciated.
If you have any questions, please contact me. Thank you
for considering this.
Warm regards,
Eric Messinger
