10-Minute Almond Blueberry Breakfast Polenta

A nutrient-Rich Start To The Day

Stacie Billis
I get giddy whenever I spy breakfast polenta on a brunch menu. It seems so glamorous, so luxurious… so Italian! But, the truth is, polenta takes all of 10 minutes to make. It’s even quicker and easier (and, dare I say, more delicious) than its down-home American counterpart, oatmeal.

Scones For Any Occasion

The Breakfast That Never Grows Old

Kelsey Banfield
I love a good scone for breakfast any day of the week. I first got hooked on them during my semester abroad in Scotland. I would often treat myself to one or two a week after lectures. Since I can't live in Scotland full time - though I would love to - I had to figure out to make them for myself the second I got home. These days I usually make my scones during my daughter's afternoon naptime and bake them the morning we want to eat them.

Vanilla Poached Cherries

Easier (& Just as Satisfying) as Pie

Stacie Billis
I'm in a summer state of mind and that means ice cream, popsicles, stone fruit paired with fresh herbs and CHERRIES! Cherries make me incredibly happy. Not only are they divine fresh and completely unadorned, but they are also delectable in my favorite desserts: pies, crumbles and crisps (like this Cinnamon Cardamom Cherry Crisp... DROOL.) But, alas, for now, I'm trying to avoid such desserts. And so I almost avoided cherries all together. Seriously. Using cherries to make something buttery, cinnamony and cakey is that tempting. But, then, of course, I thought better of it.

Fresh Breakfast Treat

Soft and Sweet Cinnamon Buns

Amy Spiro
There's really nothing like biting in to a warm, sweet, soft cinnamon bun in the morning. While cinnamon buns aren't the healthiest breakfast, making them  yourself is definitely way better than buying them in a certain unnamed chain restaurant!

Dessert for Breakfast

Easy Strawberry Coffee Cake

Jenna Helwig
On the weekends I like dessert for breakfast. Sure, an omelette or bacon and eggs can be satisfying. But really I want blueberry pancakes with real, rich maple syrup or baked brioche French toast with raisins and pecans (really a bread pudding!). Even better would be a piece of fruit pie from dessert the night before.

Baked Berry Crumble French Toast

A Berrylicious Breakfast (Or Dessert!)

Christine Wei
This summer, I had the best French toast of my life. On a weekend trip in charming Pittsfield, Massachusetts, I woke up one morning to a rich, dense berrylicious breakfast complete with a crunchy crumble top--my favorite--at White Horse Inn. Sweet and moist, practically a cake, this French toast can do double duty as both a filling breakfast and decadent dessert. Either would be a great treat for a good kid.

Weekend Waffles

Better Your Breakfast With Whole Wheat

Liza Huber
There's something about waffles that just says "weekend".  I love to make these breakfast bites for my family on a Sunday morning. My husband and children love them! What they don't know is that these delicious waffles are full of healthy whole wheat and ground flax seed. What they do know, is that they taste so good! I hope your family enjoys them as much as mine does (weekend or not).
