New York Family is proud to be a media sponsor of the Coalition for the Homeless’ Carnival Night for Kids fundraiser event. The family-friendly event (which promises plenty of fun in addition to benefiting a great cause) will take place on Wednesday, June 11, (Rain date: Thursday, June 12), from 5:30-8:30pm, at Victorian Gardens in Central Park.
The Carnival Night for Kids–which will also serve as a celebration of the 30th anniversary of Camp Homeward Bound, the nation’s first summer sleep-away camp for homeless children–will be complete with activities and entertainment to engage kids and adults alike! What could be more fun than enjoying quality time with your kiddos while also teaching them about the importance of taking care of others in their community?
Among the promised delights are amusement park rides, arcade games, a Gaga pit, arts and crafts, magicians, BBQ, and more! Plus, beloved children’s book authors Brian Floca, Oliver Jeffers, and Tad Hills will be signing free copies of some of their fave books.
Ticket sales and donations will all go to some of the worthy causes made possible by the Coalition for the Homeless. In addition to benefiting Camp Homeward Bound, the Carnival proceeds will also support Bound for Success, the Coalition’s afterschool program and summer day camp for children living in New York City shelters.
