The New York Baby Show Announces The Winners Of The 2013 Best In Show Awards

The New York Baby Show is pleased to announce the winners of the 2013 Best In Show Awards. They are:

ParentLab’s journeyBee, a portable crib
Quinny’s Yezz, a lightweight stroller
Innobaby’s Teether & Rattle, a long-stemmed teether-rattle combo
Nuna’s Leaf, a motor-free baby rocker
Bitybean, a compact child carrier

The 2013 Best In Show winners were selected by a distinguished panel of editors, bloggers, and retail experts: Leah Black of New York Family Baby; Catherine Connors of Babble; Elina Furman of A-List Mom; Melissa Keswin of Gilt.com; Audrey Goodson Kingo of Earnshaw’s; Elena Donovan Mauer of The Bump; Serena Norr of MomTrends; Peter Roberge of Albee Baby; Hallie Scheflin of Parents magazine; Ali Wing of giggle; and Alicia Ybarbo and Mary Ann Zoellner from Today’s Moms.

Here are some of the judge’s comments about the Best In Show winners:

ParentLab’s journeyBee: “They’re attractive, they collapse & carry ridiculously easily, and they’re built in such a way that they can multitask as travel crib, play-yard and outdoor play tent (for beach or yard).”

Quinny’s Yezz: “Super lightweight, super cute & innovative! This will be a fun new addition to a category of umbrella strollers that has been desperate for innovation for the last couple of years!”

Innobaby’s Teether & Rattle: “This lightweight and flexible teether has a fun design that babies love and is easy for them to grasp.”

Nuna’s Leaf: “This nifty little rocker from Dutch company Nuna is perfect for moms looking for a greener way to get baby to go to sleep. Designed to simulate the motion of a floating leaf, the rocker is propelled by the baby’s weight—no batteries or electricity required. And with a weight limit of 130 pounds, the Leaf will last long past the infant years.”

Bitybean: “A child carrier that you can tuck easily into a diaper bag? I desperately wish that I had one of these when my children were babies. Would have been a lifesaver. This is one of those products that causes you to think – why did no-one think of that sooner?”

Taking place the weekend of May 18 and 19, at Pier 92 in NYC, the annual New York Baby Show had two record-breaking days of attendance, attracting thousands of expectant and new parents (and their infants and toddlers) from New York City and the surrounding metropolitan area.

Produced by New York Family magazine, the New York Baby Show features a mix of vendors, speakers, entertainment, and special attractions—all catering to expectant and new families. This year’s highlights included the participation of maternity guru Rosie Pope, who gave the event’s keynote address both days, along with her favorite parenting experts; a custom-designed stroller test track; Comfort & Harmony’s Moms’ Lounge; NYC Dads Group’s Dads’ Lounge; Radio Disney and local entertainers; and a menu of specialized seminars on topics ranging from swaddling to selecting a nanny.
