I could stand to lose a few pounds, and so can my 10-year-old son. The food writer Mark Bittman, whose most famous recipe tome is “How To Cook Everything,” has written quite persuasively about getting his health together in middle age, and I’m trying to embrace one of his newer books: VB6: Eat Vegan Before 6:00 to Lose Weight and Restore Your Health . . . for Good.
Adam, my son, has shown a surprising and encouraging amount of interest in wanting to go on the journey with me. But he’s had a few questions. Here was the first one:
