Culinary Kids Food Festival At The New York Botanical Garden

By Emanuelle Block

From farm to table, how do the seeds we plant become our favorite foods?  The New York Botanical Garden presents a week-long food festival highlighting the relationship among plants and farms, and their journey to our kitchens and dining tables.  The family-friendly festival is a part of the NYBG’s Edible Academy initiative.  The garden staff and culinary team offer cooking demonstrations, recipes, hands-on activities and food tastings.  Learn about kitchen chemistry and the origins of food.  The daily 1pm cooking demonstrations feature kid-friendly recipes, and local chefs share their expertise.  All ages.  10am-5pm.  2900 Southern Blvd, Bronx.  (718) 817-8700.  nybg.org
