City As Canvas Exhibit At The Museum of the City of New York

By Emily Murphy

The City as Canvas exhibit explores the history and culture of New York City’s graffiti scene. The expansive collection is donated by the late Martin Wong, an East Village artist who avidly collected graffiti art since his move to the Big Apple in 1978. The exhibition features photographs,  canvas, sketchbooks, and mixed media paintings, as well as work from noted artists like Keith Haring, Lee Quiñones and LADY PINK. mcny.org
