New York Family Magazine

New York Family is a monthly publication targeting parents throughout Manhattan. Distributed in more than 1,000 locations—including schools, retail locations, children’s stores and apartment buildings around Manhattan—New York Family reaches more than 100,000 parents throughout the borough.

New York Family covers topics that parents care about most: education, health, and parenting advice and techniques. It also includes a full calendar of events and activities for children. In addition, New York Family is aligned with two of Manhattan Media’s successful parenting events: The Blackboard Awards (our annual review of educational excellence in our city’s schools) and The Blackboard Camp Fair (an annual event that affords parents an opportunity to be introduced to 75 different summer camps).

Just as important to readers as the award-winning content in New York Family, there is also parenting-relevant advertising. The magazine offers advertisers a qualified audience looking for goods and services close at hand. Advertisers include small and large businesses, educators, camps, health providers, and community organizations, as well as many other related categories.

New York Family Brooklyn

New York Family Brooklyn is a glossy, vibrant city magazine that offers active, sophisticated New York parents an inviting mix of feature articles and selected tips about their interests, issues, and concerns. As a “family lifestyle” magazine, our coverage ranges from classic parenting stories about children of all ages (infants to teens) to knowing guides for navigating school admissions and camp selection to the latest trends in family real estate and family travel.

We try to be a magazine that is savvy, interesting, surprising, and fun—a variety that begins with our covers and extends across the magazine. Last November, for example, we had a cover story about 20 family heroes who have made significant contributions to making the city a better place to live for families. Most issues include at least one or two special sections, with family-oriented articles on education, health and fitness, tweens and teens, and many other topics.

The magazine also has a lively combination of regular monthly columns and departments that are very popular with readers. The front of the book includes Buzzworthy (trends we like); It’s My Party (pictures of local birthday parties); and Treats (our delectable mix of clothes, accessories, and other goodies). Our popular monthly columns include Neighborhood Watch; Starting Out (stories for parents of infants and toddlers); and Happy Trails (travel).
